Volunteers @ STYLEAID

It's been a massive month for volunteering at the WA AIDS Council, especially with STYLEAID Icon 20!

On Thursday we had 18 fabulous corporate volunteers from NAB and Bankwest help to pack around 700 gift bags for STYLEAID guests.

On Friday night there were a total of 48 fabulous volunteers helping out with Front of House duties, with volunteering shifts beginning at 5pm and running throughout the night until 1am. Volunteers on the red carpet helped out with ticket collection, the media wall, greeting guests at the ballroom doors and assisting them to find their tables. Volunteers in the VIP area greeted guests on arrival, checked wristbands, sold Tombola's and the 'Liberated' book, operating the photo booth and the tatooing stall. Ballroom volunteers sold Tombola's, spotting for the auction and providing eftpos support. Front of house volunteers ran the registration table, Tombola git collection table and gift bag tables.

This year, a volunteer leadership role was created to assist with the running of the volunteers on the night. This role was awarded to Zoe Mair, who has volunteered at STYLEAID for the past 6 years in a row, and has been reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking each and every time. Zoe did an outstanding job and had all the volunteers doing exactly what was required. Zoe was a pleasure to work with and made my job a lot easier!!

Overall, approximately 290 hours of volunteering took place! All the volunteers did an amazing job, so much effort and commitment was put in by all, and it definetly paid off! The volunteers made the night appear seamless, they were flexible, adaptable and most importantly reliable.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort on Friday, it would not have been possible without you!
